Welcome to the TALIS project home page.

The "Total Information Sharing for Pilot Situational Awareness Enhanced by Intelligent Systems" (TALIS) project is an RTD project that makes an innovative approach to contribute to the improvements of efficiency and safety of the overall air traffic system.

The main project objectives are:
Investigate the use of distributed technologies (DT) in an Aeronautical environment
Do distributed technologies provide a benefit for the support of aeronautical applications ?
Is the deployment of distributed application over current air-ground links realistic ?
Should some improvements in current air-ground technologies be considered ?

Investigate the use of Object Oriented Methods by the Aeronautical Community
What would be the impact on certification processes of the use of UML ? of JAVA ?
Can JAVA-based applications be used onboard ? for safety applications ?

The project will build an architecture plateform providing a wide range of services dedicated to the support of distributed applications, and develop two innovative applications (TIS and METEO) making an extensive use of the architecture services.
